Honda Fit with MOMO Atlantis Seats
The Honda Fit is a five-door hatchback subcompact car, manufactured by the Honda Motor Company of Japan, first introduced in June 2001 and now in its second generation. The Fit uses Honda's Global Small Car platform, also used by the City/Fit Aria, Airwave, Mobilio, and the Mobilio Spike.
The Fit uses Honda's Global Small Car platform, which is also used by the Fit Aria/City (a sedan version of the Fit), the Airwave (a wagon version of the Fit Aria/City), the Mobilio, and the Mobilio Spike. One of the characteristics of the Fit, which is also present in the Fit Aria and Airwave, is the location of the fuel tank. Rather than placing it under the rear seats, it is located under the front seats, thereby freeing up valuable room in the back. It also allows for a seating configuration marketed by Honda as the "Magic Seat" system ("ULTR seat" in Japan) with five distinct seating modes:
The Fit is produced in 5 factories throughout the world; Suzuka (Japan), Sumare (Brazil), Guangzhou (China), Ayutthaya (Thailand), and Karawang (Indonesia). Models produced in Japan are for Honda's home market, exported to Europe, some Asian markets, as well as Canada and the United States. The Brazilian factory supplies all of Latin America and the Caribbean. Chinese models are sold in mainland China and also exported to some left hand drive European markets, while Jazz models in Hong Kong are made in Japan.
If you are truly looking to style up your Fit, then good custom seats are a logical upgrade. There are many aftermarket companies out there that produce quality bucket racing seats for either road or track use. Prices can vary from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars for top of the line seats depending on your taste and the size of your bankroll.
Beside the bling effect of having some sweet looking Atlantis racing seats in your vehicle there are some performance benefits. Because racings seats are made out of lighter materials than your factory seats they reduce the overall weight of your vehicle which is always a positive for tuning.
MOMO Atlantis Racing Seats are universal for all vehicles; however, all Atlantis seats will need to latch to a seats rail, which is car specific. Make sure there is a rail available for your vehicle, or otherwise you can customize your stock one to fit your Atlantis aftermarket seats.
MOMO Seats, the maker of the popular Atlantis seats is one of the heavy hitters in the aftermarket seats industry. Many others try to match the quality of craftsmanship of the Atlantis seats but few succeed.
The new Atlantis tuning seat provides the look and feel of a competition seat in a non-FIA package. To ensure many years of security the Atlantis is constructed of tubular steel and fiberglass. The high quality fabric has Kinder Point inserts at key wear areas for protection. The seat back has box quilting for a classic look while the thick base pad and built in thigh support will provide miles of comfort. To finish off the look, MOMO is embroidered in yellow stitch across the headrest. The Atlantis is a bottom -mount seat and has 4 harness holes. Weighing in at only 17 pounds, its one of the lightest seats available.
