Mini Cooper with Sparco Torino II Racing Seats

When production of the classic Mini ceased in 2000, BMW (the new owner of the brand) announced the successor to the Mini - which is variously called the "BMW MINI" or the "New MINI". The brand name for the new car is MINI.

Most Mini enthusiasts reject the claim that the MINI is the natural successor of the original car - many simply dislike it - yet a few were amongst the first to buy the new MINI when it was launched. There are many reasons offered for the negative point of view. One notion is that the classic Mini could have continued in viable production for many more years had it not been 'killed off' to make way for the MINI. The new MINI is larger than the classic Mini. It is around 22 inches longer, 12 inches wider, weighing 2,315 lb rather than 1,433 lb. That, together with the departure from the spartan minimalism of the original, has proven objectionable to some enthusiasts. Others resent the manner in which BMW took the Mini brand name from the Rover group. However, many Mini owners take the opposite view and embrace the new car as a logical succession of the original and view it as the only way the concept could have continued in the light of modern safety, emissions and manufacturing principles. Some Mini clubs go so far as to ban MINI's from their club meetings - others actively seek car enthusiasts from both camps. This spectrum of attitudes has been noted with other retro-car releases such as the Volkswagen Beetle and is far from being unique to the Mini community.

If you are truly looking to style up your Mini Cooper, then good custom seats are a logical upgrade.  There are many aftermarket companies out there that produce quality bucket racing seats for either road or track use.  Prices can vary from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars for top of the line seats depending on your taste and the size of your bankroll.

Beside the bling effect of having some sweet looking Torino II racing seats in your vehicle there are some performance benefits.  Because racings seats are made out of lighter materials than your factory seats they reduce the overall weight of your vehicle which is always a positive for tuning.

Torino II Racing Seats are universal for all vehicles; however, all Torino II seats will need to latch to a seats rail, which is car specific.  Make sure there is a rail available for your vehicle, or otherwise you can customize your stock one to fit your aftermarket seats.

Sparco Seats, the maker of the popular Torino II seat is one of the heavy hitters in the aftermarket seat industry.  Many others try to match the quality of craftsmanship of the Torino II seat but few succeed.   One of the most advanced adjustable sport seats ever manufactured by Sparco.  Anatomic, extremely comfortable and refined in a modern design.  Back rest can be reclined to the millimeter, but features the exclusive QTS Technology (quick tilt system) technology for rapid return to the upright position. The Sparco Torino II also features revolutionary contoured injection molded memory foam. Touring car inspired g-force absorbing side bolsters. Perforated abrasion resistant inserts and a micro-fine recline mechanism. The fabric used on Torino seats is Jacquard.
