Nissan Sentra with Status LeMans Racing Seats

The Sentra finally crossed over into the "compact" class for 2000. Previously, the compact class had been occupied by the Altima, which moved to the mid-size class in 2001, and its wheelbase remained unchanged from the previous generation. Also to be noted is that while earlier Sentra's were very similar to their Japan-market B-series Nissan Sunny twins, the B15 Sentra diverged greatly from the B15 Sunny (a.k.a. Nissan Super Sunny). Production shifted from Smyrna, Tennessee to Aguascalientes, Mexico, and the Smyrna production line was retooled to build the Nissan Xterra. The 2000-2001 Sentra SE with the SR20DE Roller Rocker motor, which has 145 hp and 136 lb•ft of torque, occupied the top of the line Sentra until the SE-R returned in 2002. The 1.6 L GA16DE engine was dropped in favor of the 1.8 L QG18DE QG18DE. Numerous upgrades were made over the previous generation. The new model featured a new interior with higher quality plastics and more comfortable seats. The exterior was also substantially updated and now featured body-side moldings and clear headlights. The curb weight on the QG18DE-engined Sentra is 2,513 lb.

In 2002, a new SE-R (165 hp) was introduced, trading its SR20DE engine for the Altima's torquier but lower-revving QR25DE. The SE-R came in a base model with a 5-speed manual transmission or optional 4-speed automatic. The SE-R Spec V (175 hp) featured a 6-speed manual transmission with a helical Torsen limited slip differential. The Spec V is capable of a 15.4 second quarter-mile, 7.0 second 0-60 mph time (equal to the B13 SE-R's time) due to extra-short gearing making 60 mph unreachable in second gear. The SE-R (and Spec V) also featured sportier-looking headlights with black surrounding the silver reflectors as well as standard fog-lights.

If you are truly looking to style up your Sentra, then good custom racing seats are a logical upgrade.  There are many aftermarket companies out there that produce quality bucket racing seats for either road or track use.  Prices can vary from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars for top of the line seats depending on your taste and the size of your bankroll.

Beside the bling effect of having some sweet looking LeMans racing seats in your vehicle there are some performance benefits.  Because racings seats are made out of lighter materials than your factory seats they reduce the overall weight of your vehicle which is always a positive for tuning.

LeMans Racing Seats are universal for all vehicles; however, all LeMans Racing seats will need to latch to a seats rail, which is car specific.  Make sure there is a rail available for your vehicle, or otherwise you can customize your stock one to fit your aftermarket racing seats.

Status Racing Seats, the maker of the popular LeMans Racing seats is one of the heavy hitters in the aftermarket seats industry.  Many others try to match the quality of craftsmanship of the LeMans Racing seats but few succeed.

Status offers a wide Range of Fixed Back Racing Seats that go all the way from Tight Competition Seats to 'Big Boy' Fixed Back Seats. The Status Reclinable Seats are also great seats that range from your basic Reclinable street seat all the way up to their Spa Bucket Reclinable offered in Carbon and Kevlar Backing.

Status_Racing LeMans Bucket Racing Seat comes in three different materials; fiberglass, carbon fiber and Kevlar shells.  Each is covered with a cloth cover.  Racing seats are available in Red, Blue and Black.  All Status LeMans Racing seat will work with a Bride rail system.  The GT racing seats will work but you will need to modify it slightly to fit.
